Navigating Your Application for the Entrepreneur Programs through different Provinces

Each province and has its own eligibility requirements, make sure to check your preferred province’s rules

ALBERTA

You must have 6 months of minimum full-time work experienced which can be a combination of owning or managing the business.


Work experience can be obtained:    

After or before completing Alberta education    
Within Canada or outside Canada
You must meet minimum work experience at the time of submitting EOI.
Please note: 2 years of full-time Alberta education and 6 months of work experience are needed at the time of EOI submission.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

The British Columbia provincial nominee’s entrepreneurship program is a path to immigrate to Canada and settle in the province. This province’s program aims to grant access to experienced entrepreneurs that will assist in developing the economy.

This program comprises three streams with distinct requirements:

Entrepreneur Immigration
Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot
Entrepreneur Immigration – Strategic Projects
The British Columbia province entrepreneur program is different from the nominee program of other areas. An applicant is only selected for this program if they have successfully set up the area’s required business.

ONTARIO

The Canada Investor Visa program of Ontario aims to provide foreign entrepreneurs with an opportunity to be nominated for permanent residence after their business has been successfully set up in the province. Certain requirements need to be fulfilled by an applicant to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

SASKATCHEWAN

The province of Saskatchewan offers its entrepreneur immigration program that is aligned to the Saskatchewan Immigration nominee program.

It involves a three-stage process for selecting a successful applicant:

Expression of Interest
Invitation to submit an application
Nomination
Each of the above-mentioned stages has its own requirements. The expression of interest meets the following minimum entry requirements:
The applicant must have at least 3 years of entrepreneurial or managerial experience.
They must have an investment of at least $300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon or worth $200,000 in any other area of Saskatchewan.
They must have a minimum legally acquired net worth of $500,000

NEW BRUNSWICK

The candidates who become eligible for the New Brunswick entrepreneur immigration program must submit an Expression of Interest form by email.

The applicant needs to fulfill certain requirements that are listed below:

They are required to have business management experience.
Their age must be between 22 and 55 years
They have to invest a minimum of $250,000 in a New Brunswick business by taking a share of 33%
They have to score a minimum of level 5 in Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in English proficiency. entrusted with head-of-state duties and their accompanying family members;

MANITOBA

The Canada investor visa for Manitoba immigrant nominee program has three pathways through which foreign investors can apply for this program

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES

The applicants of the Northwest Territory Entrepreneur nominee program must have a net worth of $250,000. They have to make an active investment with a minimum of $150,000 in business in this province. The applicant must also have business management experience.

ENTREPRENEUR PATHWAY

This pathway is for international entrepreneurs that want to establish a business in Manitoba. Initially, candidates have issued a temporary work permit and nominated for permanent residence to set up a business after they have met the established conditions by the Business Performance Agreement.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

The Prince Edward Island immigrant nominee program for a business is meant to bring international investors into the province.

Certain conditions that are required by applicants to get nominated for Canada Investor Visa in this province are:

Applicants are required to have business experience,
They must have a minimum net worth of $600,000 and are required to make an investment in a local business with a minimum sum of $150,000.
English proficiency is also required.

YUKON

The Yukon Business Nominee Program provides access to entrepreneurs to own and operate their businesses in the province. The candidates initially come to Yukon on a two-year work permit. They have to establish a business in the province within this timeframe to get nominated for permanent residency.

The certain requirements of the business nominee program include:

Applicants must have a business management role skill.
They must have a net worth of at least $250,000 with an investment of at least $150,000 which is required to be made into a local business.
The nominations for the applications are hugely based on education and English Proficiency.

BUSINESS INVESTOR STREAM

This stream is targeted at foreign investors and entrepreneurs. Candidates are issued a temporary work permit and must show intent to establish a business in the province within two years of arrival. Applicants are not required to deposit a sum of $100,000 with the government which was a mandatory requirement earlier.

FARM INVESTOR PATHWAY

Foreign investors/entrepreneurs that want to establish a farm in rural Manitoba can achieve this through this pathway. Applicants are initially issued with a temporary work permit. They are nominated for permanent residence after they have completed the conditions set by the Business Performance Agreement.

NOVA SCOTIA

The Nova Scotia immigrant nominee program has an entrepreneur stream which targets immigrant that have management or entrepreneurship experience that will help them stimulate the economy of Nova Scotia. The applicants that get selected for Canada Investor Visa in this province are required to have a residence in Nova Scotia and own a business or partner with an established business.

Before applicants are nominated for permanent residence after running a business for at least a year, they are issued a temporary working permit.

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

Be 21 years of age and above
State intent to live in Nova Scotia while involved in the active management of the established business
Have at least 3 years of managerial experience or more than 5 years of experience in a senior business management role.
Score at least level 5 in the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in speaking, writing, listening, and reading in English or French.
