Empowering Communities:

The Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot

Building Brighter Futures in Canada’s Heartland

Launched in June 2019, the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program (RNIP) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing the unique demographic and economic challenges facing Canada's rural and northern communities.

This economic pilot program is meticulously designed for candidates who receive a recommendation from one of the participating communities & secure a job offer within the same area.

It caters to those meeting specific criteria, including language proficiency, educational background, and settlement funds, ensuring newcomers are well-prepared to thrive in their new environment.

The RNIP represents a critical effort to revitalize these communities amidst challenges such as declining birth rates and workforce shortages due to retirement. Despite the influx of skilled immigrants to urban centers, rural areas have seen gaps in their labor markets—a trend this five-year pilot program seeks to reverse by making rural and northern locales attractive destinations for skilled workers and their families.

RNIP stands as a beacon of hope for small towns and remote areas across Canada, promising growth, diversity, and prosperity for both newcomers and residents alike.

The dependant family member who seeks sponsorship can be either of the ones:
